Film Fixing
Earth Ark Productions is set up to fulfil the needs of international film crews conducting filming activities in Botswana.
We provide fixing and facilitation services throughout Botswana and have partners across Southern Africa. Our local knowledge, experience and valuable contact base take the headache out of your location shoot.
Earth Ark Productions has a fleet of 4x4 filming vehicles, camping equipment and logistical support equipment.
We also provide staffing requirements including fixers and location management, cameramen, professional guides, boat drivers, chefs and others.
Drone Flying: The Botswana Government is strict on the use of drones in the country. Licenses are needed for both the drone and the pilot and can take a considerable period of time to obtain. To eliminate this challenge Earth Ark Productions operates a Mavic Pro 3 Cine that is licensed and available for local hire. We also have access to additional drones should they be necessary.

Filming Guidelines
The Government of Botswana is most welcoming of International production companies wanting to film in the country.
In order to do so, production companies and/or an appointed representative inside Botswana are expected to apply for a film permit. The application should state their intensions, film locations and where the final production will be broadcast and distributed.
A waiting period of up to 6 weeks will be needed to get the relevant permit.
If the filming project takes place in National Parks or Game Reserves, a supplementary permit from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks will be necessary.
Please get in touch to learn more about the current requirements.

Filming in Botswana
Botswana is no doubt a success story both on the African continent and across the world. More than 50 years have passed since Independence and the country has gone from strength to strength, regularly achieving the fastest growing economy in Africa. With a relatively small population and a huge commitment to its wildlife, Botswana is ideal for a variety of productions; ranging from true wildlife documentaries to presenter-driven travel programs. The environmental, wildlife and cultural opportunities are endless.
Botswana is open and welcoming to tourists, business travellers and film makers alike. The country and its people are incredibly proud and relish any opportunity to have their country showcased on the international stage.
With around 40% of the country's land mass designated to wildlife, Botswana supports the largest Elephant population left in Africa, the largest continuous Lion population and the largest population of the critically endangered African Wild Dog.
The Okavango Delta - listed as the one thousandth UNESCO World Heritage Site, is part of the largest intact eco-system in Southern Africa.
